FISHING TIPS       
The uni knot

This is a very versatile knot. A small loop can be left when fishing with a swimming plug to allow the lure greater action, two Uni knots can be used to join line, or the Uni knot can be formed around the hook shank to quickly snell a hook. If you don't have time to learn any other knot, learn this one.

Step 1 Run the line through the hook eye, allowing 6 or 8 inches of line to form the knot. Form a loop with the tag line end as shown Figure 1. Uni Knot pic 1

Step 2 Make 5 or 6 turns with the tag end as shown in Figure 23 - 4 turns would be sufficient when using heavier line. Uni Knot pic 2

Step 3 Wet the loose knot and pull the tag end while holding the standing line to tighten the knot as shown in Figure 3.  Uni Knot pic 3

Step 4 Trim the tag end and the knot will be compact and effective.
